At 51成人动漫, we take pride in serving a large and diverse student community with varying needs and goals, fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive. September was National Student Parent Month, and we wanted to recognize the BC students who balance the responsibilities of being a parent while pursuing their academic dreams.
BC has a variety of programs that exist to increase student success, and many of them are designed to specifically help student parents, including Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE), California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Children (CalWORKs), and the Child Development Center (CDC). These initiatives provide educational support, financial assistance, basic needs services, childcare, and more.
Last year, more than 250 student parents received services through these programs, highlighting not only their impact but also the significance of the resources provided. More than 100 CalWORKs and CARE students completed a certificate and/or degree!
Stefanie Lueck, BC student and single mother, was eager to share her experience. 鈥淎s a single mother of two under three, my educational opportunities were at a disadvantage,鈥 she says, 鈥淎s soon as I entered into the EOPS/CARE/CalWORKS program, I was given top-notch counseling opportunities to help me through the process.鈥 Beyond academic support, Stefanie also received other support. 鈥淚 was provided with every opportunity available to me,鈥 she says, 鈥渁nd when funds were low, CARE/CalWORKs were there to help me with school supplies, a gas card, and a textbook grant. They provided me with all the resources available to make me a successful student.鈥
Serena Delgado is a single mother who recently returned to BC to further her education in Criminal Justice. The Child Development Center has been a valuable resource for her. 鈥淗aving the opportunity to enroll my child at the CDC has not only provided me with quality care,鈥 she says, 鈥渂ut has also allowed me to utilize the Student Parent Tutoring Center.鈥 These services have contributed to her academic success. 鈥淭hank you, BC for supporting the CDC,鈥 she says, 鈥渂alancing school, parenting, and work has not been easy 鈥 but I am determined to continue striving for success.鈥
51成人动漫 is honored to provide multiple programs and services that help student parents reach their academic goals. We are inspired by the resilience and determination of our student parents, and we remain committed to helping them build a brighter future for themselves and their families through education.
