Campus departments, offices, student organizations, and faculty are encouraged to join in the spirit of Homecoming by transforming their spaces into the world of Atlantis. From ancient ruins and legendary treasures to glowing undersea landscapes, let your creativity flow and show off your Renegade pride. Event Rules and Regulations

• Each team is highly encouraged to dress up as a legendary hero, mythical explorer, or sea-inspired character. 
• Each team will have up to seven members participating in the event.
• Each team is encouraged to wear athletic attire and closed towed shoes.
• Each team player will navigate an obstacle course designed with various challenges.
• Each team will be timed.
• All team members must stay within marked boundaries.

 

Team Competition

A representative will be present to keep the score of those in attendance. Points will be awarded to teams entering the competitions and anyone on the team there to cheer their team on!

We welcome all teams to enter into our Homecoming Parade March and Homecoming Booth Decorating! 

This is the final celebration before the big game! The Office of Student Life encourages all teams and community entities to go above and beyond this year and join us for our Parade March and decorate booths at the stadium that are eye-catching for all of the spectators. 

Entries must incorporate the Homecoming theme into their booths. Booths will be judged on creativity, visual appeal, and engagement. Please arrive on time to decorate your booth early so it is exciting. Please put some time and effort into these.  

The Office of Student Life reserves the right to revoke any entry from the Parade March and Booth Decorating if the entry or team members are not abiding by the parade rules listed in this Homecoming Packet or at the discretion of the Dean of Students. 

This year, we’re excited to run the parade march alongside the Alumni BBQ — the perfect stage to show off your Renegade pride! Be ready to debut your best Atlantis-inspired gear and booth, bringing to life the legends, treasures, and spirit of the lost city. Let’s make this year’s Ride the Tide: Homecoming Parade of Treasures one to remember!

Booth/Parade March Rules

1. Check-in will begin at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 and all entries must be checked in by 2:30 p.m. Any entry not checked in at this time will not participate in the parade. Booths and participants must check-in and be present at the BC Northwest Parking Lot – Admin/Faculty Parking Lot located at Panorama Drive and Haley.  
2. The route of the parade march will be through the internal sidewalk routes of the campus grounds. 
3. Only one representative from each team will register their entry.
4. All entries can be inspected by the Department of College Safety.
5. Booths that fail to comply with any federal, state, and local laws, or are in any way offensive in nature will be dismissed from the parade by Police and will be disqualified from the homecoming competition. 
6. No alcohol or drugs are to be present or consumed at any time. Anyone violating the alcohol policy, displaying unsportsmanlike conduct or any other disruptive or inappropriate behavior will be turned over to the Police and/or the Office of Student Life.
7. Nothing shall be thrown, sprayed, or discarded along the parade route (includes candy, rice, etc.) for the safety of the spectators. Participants are welcome to walk along the side of the route and hand out items to discourage spectators from running into the parade march route.
8. This is a forward moving parade march and there will be no stopping on the parade route unless the Department of College Safety states so. Participants may perform but must continue moving forward along the route.
9. Entries with sound amplification must maintain a reasonable volume so as not to interfere with units ahead or behind, and College Officials must be informed of the music prior to staging. (This will need to be indicated on the registration form each entry is required to return before the start).
10. All participants are responsible for removing all booth equipment, decorations, and any other items from the staging area, parade route, and at the final staging area. Items MUST be removed on Saturday by the end of the Homecoming Game
11. 51³ÉÈ˶¯Âþ is not responsible for any theft, damage, or negligence brought on by this event.
12. The Office of Student Life reserves the right to add and/or change any of the rules and regulations to ensure a fair and safe Homecoming parade event.

 

Booth Requirements

1. Each Booth must be identifiable (i.e. banner, sign, etc.) for the team.
2. If the Parade March entry is a vehicle, the driver must be 18 years or older.
3. All vehicles must be registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles and insured.
4. If your entry has a trailer attached, a 5 lb. ABC (min 2A/10BC rating) fire extinguisher must be present during the inspection and the remainder of the parade.
5. Generators must be uncovered in an unenclosed space and away from any combustibles.
6. Safety Chains are always affixed if relevant.
7. Any passengers in the Parade March should be in a secure location (i.e. railing, etc.). Participants will not be permitted to get on or off any vehicle once the parade march begins.
8. No open flames are permitted.
9. Pyrotechnics are not permitted.
10. Drivers must have 180 degree forward vision.
11. Distance between parade march vehicle units is to be maintained at least 30 feet.

By agreeing to the above, all Homecoming participants and their entries agree to the above rules and requirements. If any of these rules or requirements is violated, entries will be handed over to the Department of Public Safety and will be disqualified from any homecoming competitions this year, will not be invited to participate in future Homecoming activities, and will be reported to the Office of Student Life.
